How could the AMISH not be connected to a healthy planet EARTH. We are all concerned about our environment and there is no other culture that supports natural and responsible living more than the AMISH in their lives every single day.

My Trip To Amish Country

Good Morning everyone, hope your day has started out well today. I will be heading out on my first trip to Ohio to visit and work with the Amish in a few weeks. I am very excited about dealing directly with them, it will be a great adventure for me even though I have been in the furniture industry most of my life. I thought you might want to tag along on my trip thru my BLOG with me whether we are connected thru family, friends, work or FACEBOOK….

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! - from all of us at Amish Furniture by Burress

We can all take a lesson from the Amish.....be grateful for what we have. Pretty simple and speaking of simple.....we are all very lucky to have what we have in this wonderful life, but remember the Amish have a simpler way, a simpler outlook.....and a great profound peace. Maybe we should slow down and take a hint from the Amish.

An Amish Christmas

As might be expected, Amish Christmas customs are simple, oriented to the family and the religious meaning of the holiday. So, Amish children don’t visit Santa Claus in the store. There is no lavishly decorated Christmas tree in the Shaker Style home. And strings of colorful electric lights do not grace the front of the Amish handcrafted house. But the making of special cookies and candies is certainly a part of the holiday activities.

How do the Amish celebrate Chiristmas?

The Amish celebrate Christmas in many of the same ways that everyone does, only with much more emphasis on making hand made gifts and less emphasis on shopping and decorating.
