Well tomorrow we leave for the Midwest Hardwoods Show, basically one of the AMISH Markets. Looking forward to seeing what is up this year on Amish Looks for the season.......you might be surprised.....
Did you know . . . that Plain folks were into social networking long before computers and Facebook?
“What is the “Sustainable Furnishings Council” and how is it connected with the AMISH and solid hardwood furniture?”
How could the AMISH not be connected to a healthy planet EARTH. We are all concerned about our environment and there is no other culture that supports natural and responsible living more than the AMISH in their lives every single day.
As might be expected, Amish Christmas customs are simple, oriented to the family and the religious meaning of the holiday. So, Amish children don’t visit Santa Claus in the store. There is no lavishly decorated Christmas tree in the Shaker Style home. And strings of colorful electric lights do not grace the front of the Amish handcrafted house. But the making of special cookies and candies is certainly a part of the holiday activities.
